Frequently asked questions
What does GetPingd cost?
Free to use while the product is early. Not final yet. If pricing changes, current servers keep what they have for a fair period.
Which permissions does the bot need?
Send Messages and Embed Links in one channel you choose, plus permission to mention the role you want to ping. Nothing else. You can remove the bot at any time.
How fast are alerts?
Most go-live pings land within a minute or two. Speed depends on the platform APIs, so delays happen during big events.
Does GetPingd support Kick?
Yes. Twitch, Kick and YouTube are supported for go-live alerts. YouTube also covers videos, Shorts and community posts.
How do I connect Spotify?
The overlay uses your own Spotify app: create it in the Spotify developer dashboard, paste its Client ID and Secret into the overlay settings, and connect. Full guide: Spotify overlay.
What data do you store?
Server IDs, channel IDs and your alert settings. Login tokens live encrypted and are only used to talk to the platforms. Remove the bot or disconnect an account to delete the link. See Account & privacy.
How do I set up my first alert?
Add GetPingd to your server. Connect a Twitch, Kick or YouTube channel. Pick the role to ping and write your message. The next live event posts automatically. Details: Getting started.
Why did no ping arrive?
Check that the bot can post in the channel and mention the role. Platform alerts can lag a few minutes during big events. If the stream was very short, the platform may never have flagged it as live.
